9 Hilarious Tweets About Dog Names That Start With R

Rufus, Rocky, Rascal. We’ve been naming our dogs after the greats for decades now. But what’s in a name? What does it say about your canine companion that he or she is saddled with such an unfortunate moniker? Well, here are some tweets from people who know just how ridiculous dog names can be when they start with the letter “R.”

Tip: When writing long-form content, be sure to include a coherent introduction that explains what the blog post is about. This will help people understand why they should continue reading your article/post. Additionally, you may want to think about how much time readers generally spend on each page of your website and try to keep paragraphs between 100-500 words in length for easier reading. Lastly, it’s best not to use bullet points or numbers when writing out long form articles; this makes them seem more like an outline than actual content!

The following are some tweets from people who know just how ridiculous dog names can be when they start with the letter “R.” Rufus, Rocky, Rascal – you’ve got to admit, some of these names are pretty hilarious!

Hi there. We’re here with another article from our “Hilarious Tweets” blog series that focuses on tweets about dog names that start with the letter “R.” Now you may be thinking: why would anyone care what other people think about their pet’s name? Well for one thing, it can help make a decision when picking out a new canine companion – or even if you should just settle down and get your own cat instead (we don’t judge)! But regardless of whether or not this information will actually affect your future decisions in life; we know you’ll enjoy reading through these hilarious tweets from folks who have opinions on all things dogs.

The first tweet we’re going to share is from a woman who just can’t get over the name “Rufus.” She’s also not convinced that anyone, human or canine alike, should be given such an absurd name. In fact she goes so far as to suggest renaming her own dog with a much more sensible moniker like “Bob” in order to avoid confusion and adhere better to common decency standards of society. Rhett: Wow my wife has named our new puppy “Rhett” I don’t know where she got that from — James (@Jamesdavenport21) July 16, 2015 (GRAPHIC – She didn’t get it from me!)

Rocket: My dad’s favorite rock band is called Def Leppard so he always wanted a pet leopard when we were little so one day he named his dog Rocket. — Brayden (@Braydenn) July 15, 2015

Roxie: My mom is obsessed with Roxie Hart from Chicago so she always called my grandma “Roxy” and then they had a dog named Roxy.

Roosevelt: The president’s name was Franklin D. Roosevelt right? So he got a German Shepherd puppy who of course has the perfect last name – Roosevelt!

Sargeant Peppermint Patty: My dad loves Snoop Dogg so when we were talking about wanting to get another pup again he said “Yo let me call Dr Dre!” I’m like no it should be Sargent Peppermint Patty, lol. (It’s not my fault!)

Rhett: I named my dog Rhett because he has a lot of energy and always wants to go fast.

Rambo: My family loves the Rambo movies so when we got a new pup, they wanted her to be tough like him too! So her name is Rambo.

Molly Ringwald: She was one of our favorite characters from The Breakfast Club movie so that’s why we called our little black Lab “Molly.” (She does have ring around it-gwah)

Queenie Pie: Our lab mix had pups with his brother who were both yellow labs but she didn’t want them all being the same color so she started calling them Felix and Queenie Pie.

Rick: The name Rick is my wife’s maiden name so I wanted to honor her by naming our pup after it too!

Rocky: We went through a lot of tough times with this dog but he was always strong-willed, which is why we named him Rocky. He never quit on us even when life got really hard for him.

Ralph Wiggum: Ralph Wiggum was one of the best characters from “The Simpsons” TV show who would often say hilarious things like “hee hee.” So that’s how we decided to call our new lab puppy Ralph Wiggum because she does that all the time too! (I’m not supposed to)

Rambo: We named our dog Rambo because he’s always tough, strong-willed and never gives up. He was a huge help when we had to get the house ready for sale on short notice!

Raven from “Batman”: We were going through all these names one day but it seemed like nothing would stick until I saw an episode of Batman where Raven is introduced as Bruce Wayne’s protege so that just stuck with me. It took us some time to find her though since she escaped into the woods and came back looking completely different than before. But now she looks really cool in this black coat!

Red Dog: My husband wanted something simple so he called him Red Dog which was also his father’s nickname. He’s always so happy and bright like the color red, it was a perfect name for him.

Raven: We had trouble coming up with any good ideas but we knew one thing, she has to be black because that is her favorite color! So when my husband found out about Raven he said “We’ll call her ‘Raven’!”. She took off running as soon as I put down food though.

Rambo II from “First Blood:” The first time our dog Rambo came home full of cuts and bruises after being lost in the woods for two days without eating anything-we assumed he got into some fights again with other dogs or something.. until his brother told us how they named their pet mountain lion (and long-time pet) Rambo. Richard from “Silence of the Lambs:” I always wanted a dog that we could name Richard, but my wife thought it was too old-fashioned and suggested Scooby instead. So when our second son turned out to be an identical twin (our first one is named after his grandfather), we knew what their names would be: Scooby and Richard. Rosco from “The Dukes of Hazzard”
