“I told you that I wanted to go to the party,” said a young woman, her voice breaking. “It’s not fair.”
“I don’t care!” His voice was harsh. “You can stay here if you want. You’re just going to be mad at me all night anyway.”
The girl looked down at the ground and let out an angry sob before storming off into the kitchen, leaving him alone in their living room.
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “I’m sorry, babe,” he muttered to himself as he walked away.
The thought of being alone was too much for her so she buried herself in the bedroom with her phone until it died hours later. He had tried calling but there was no answer.
For all intents and purposes, they were over now that she couldn’t even bother answering his calls or texts anymore – at least when this thing started three days ago. So what if he didn’t want to go out? It’s not like he wanted to break up either; especially since neither one of them could afford another breakup right now–not after their last one cost him his job!..
