Bloodlines: A Guide to the Genetics and Development of Animals and Plants, is a very detailed and authoritative look at the genetic code of animals. If you’re a vegetarian and don’t eat meat, you’ll enjoy this book.
This book is a work of science fiction, so some of the facts may be a little out there. However, the author uses many of the same techniques that modern geneticists use to decipher what lies within the genome of an animal (i.e. sequencing of DNA). It will help you understand the genetic code of the species youre interested in, and what the similarities and differences between each animal are across species.
So you might think I would be a fan of this book. Yet, I have to say that the first section is really bad. I would have rather gotten the second one. While the author does a good job of explaining the genetic code of animals, it doesn’t explain the similarities and differences between each animal. You have to take a little extra time to understand the concepts, but this section is far too short for a casual reader.
If you like your science fiction and your biology books to be a little bit more difficult to understand, I would recommend checking out the book, “The Anatomy of an Infection.” It explains the similarities and differences between all of the animal populations, as well as the infectious agents that cause it. While you won’t understand it all, it will definitely make you more interested in learning about the animal world.
Bloodlines takes an even less scientific approach to the animal world. It presents an actual animal biology through the study of DNA in a way that is similar to many popular books on biology and medicine.
The book is a fascinating look at the various ways animals, plant life, and humans respond to DNA. While it’s not going to tell you everything there is to know about the animal world, it will certainly be a nice addition to any biology or animal class you have to take.
One of the authors of Bloodlines, Dr. David Suzuki, said that the book is a “wonderful introduction to the world of animals.
I guess I’m going to have to take a look at this book to see what I think about it. One of the first chapters is entitled “How to Know Your Genes.” I find this title really interesting because I have heard that gene expressions are pretty much the same no matter what, but I’ve never heard of a book that was specifically about the way DNA is expressed.
This book is written with such care that I am going to have to go back and read it again just to make sure I understand it correctly. The way that DNA is expressed as a person is very complex and it is made up of a lot of different parts, which can be quite confusing to most people. This book teaches you how to understand what your DNA is telling you about your family tree, and how to be able to tell if you have a genetic relationship to different animals.
A good book on DNA. I think I’ve read it more than once. It is definitely a must-read for all you geneticists out there.
