There are many books written about memory and memory research. Here are a few books I have read to help clear up some of the confusion surrounding the topic.
The cognitive bias we all have is that we try to remember everything. Sometimes this is a conscious effort on our part, but most of the time it is a subconscious one. While we were discussing memory, we also mentioned that memory is also a function of our emotions. If we are feeling happy, we remember more; if we are feeling upset, we remember less. The point being that we can’t remember everything at once, so we need a way to recall things in order.
I recently came across a book called “Memory Training” by James E. Newman. In it, he talks about his experience in memory training. The theory behind his method is that we all have a certain amount of stored information in our brains. He believes that it is because we are only storing a certain amount of information that we tend to forget stuff. He goes on to say that we remember more things if we have the urge to remember them.
James Newman’s book is full of interesting ideas about memory. He talks about the importance of planning our day and our activities, which can help us remember things better. He also talks about the concept of the “flow” (which is a psychological concept), which is basically the idea that as you “flow” from one state to the next, your brain is able to process information better and your memory may even improve.
Another book that James talks about is called “The Power of Now” by Brian Tracy. Tracy is a psychologist and he talks about the power of now. Basically, you have more of your attention when you’re in the moment, which means that you’re able to retain more of your memories, and that you can actually recall things more easily.
This book is actually not a good recommendation for improving your memory, at least not at this time. It is however, a great book about the power of the moment, which James and I recommend.
The book has a chapter on “The Neuroscience of Memory,” but there is not much in there. Tracy talks about “the power of the moment” and getting in the right frame of mind is one of the easiest ways to remember something you want to remember. I could easily see an article on the power of now, and that may not be a good idea.
And yes, James and I do also recommend the book. It’s called The Moment. It’s a book about the power of the moment, and it’s very easy to get into. It’s also a book that is almost certain to blow your mind, because it is written by the mind of a writer who has been in the trenches of memory.
So, here’s an easy one for you. Take your time, take a shower, take a bath, take a nap. When you are in the “now”, and you are doing something that you want to remember, you can be more likely to remember it if you’re in the “right frame of mind.” When you are remembering something that you want to remember, the brain will fire up a circuit that will allow you to remember it.
Many studies have shown that when youre depressed you are more likely to remember what happened to you, but when youve recovered from a bout of depression, you are more likely to forget. Its not entirely clear why this is, but it is possibly because when youre depressed you are more likely to think that youve forgotten things, whereas when youre in the now you are more likely to think that youve remembered. It would be interesting to see if this holds true for other moods.
