In a world where the TCG has been shut down and Pokemon are now in digital form, there is no better time than now to rank which ones are best. There are many factors that go into ranking these cards. These include: attack type, damage output, HP (Hit Points), whether or not it’s shiny, and its popularity among other players. But who should be ranked at number one? Well let’s take a look!

-Bulbasaur: Bulbasaur is one of the most popular starters in Pokemon history. It’s ability to evolve into any other type and it’s good attacking stats make this a top pick among many players.

-Venusaur: The evolution stage from Bulbasaur, Venusaur has much higher HP and attack points than its previous form as well as an additional grass type move called Solar Beam that does 120 damage for three energy cards! For these reasons I have ranked Venasau at number two on my list..

-Blastoise: The third and final evolution stage from Bulbasaur, Blastoise is the most powerful defensive Pokemon of all three. With a total HP stat of 400 points (higher than any other water type), it’s hard to take down this powerhouse but with its low attack stat coupled with an additional weakness to electric types, I have ranked Blastoise at number four on my list.

-Snorlax: Another one of the more popular starters in Pokemon history, Snorlax can be difficult for players because unlike Venusaur or Blastoise which are both offensive fighters that you might find in your deck when building up cards, Snorlax doesn’t offer much offense power unless paired with a fighting energy card. I rank Snorlax at number three on my list because of its high HP stat and ability to be a wall if you can’t get an attacking strategy going.

-Venusaur: The final evolution stage from Bulbasaur, Venusaur is the most powerful offensive Pokemon of all three with 480 points in attack stats (higher than any other grass type) but also has low defense stats which puts him at number two on the list. With his strength being very balanced with both offense and defense, this makes for a tough card that provides solid balance for players looking to build up their deck.

-Blaziken: One of the lesser known starters in Pokemon history, Blaziken offers some decent power for an even more decent price. With a 540 attack stat at level 100, Blaziken is one of the strongest fire type Pokemon and it’s only $11 in the store!

-Moltres: Moltres gets my number five spot because its stats are good against other fire types but not so much on any others. It can’t handle water or grass based decks well with 300 points for defense and only 330 points for HP which puts him lower than I would like to see but still worth mentioning as a powerhouse card that takes out many opponents who cannot defend themselves properly from his attacks. If you use him correctly he will do serious damage while preserving your own life total by using his free retreat ability. In general, this Pokemon provides an excellent way to weaken or take out your opponent’s Pokemon.

-Voltorb: This pokemon has a great ability and it is very hard to knock down for the first few turns of the game but once you can get around this problem he doesn’t have much else going on for him, making him my number four spot in the list. His stats are 400 HP which is pretty average, 100 attack power which is below average at best unless you’re using an electric deck with other cards that help boost his attacking power. He only costs $0.50 so if you want something cheap then go right ahead and buy one but I would suggest saving money elsewhere because not many people use these guys anymore when they can find stronger options available like Pikachu instead since there’s no card that helps boost his stats.

-Mr. Mime: This is a very interesting Pokemon and has some really cool abilities such as the ability to copy your opponents attacks which can be quite fun when you’re up against someone who knows how it feels, but if they don’t have any attack cards then this guy won’t help at all either way because of its low HP stat with only 200 in comparison to other pokemon like Pikachu or Voltorb. It’s also priced at $0.75 so he’ll cost you more than Voltorb would and there are better choices out there for less price tag depending on what deck you want to build around him too since he will do nothing by himself most of the time unless you use other cards to help him out.

-Abra: Abra has a higher HP stat than Mr. Mime and he can use his ability “Teleport” which allows him to move one of your opponent’s Pokemon back into their hand, but that costs three energy cards instead of two like for the attack when Pikachu does it so you’re actually losing an extra card in battle if you want to keep up with other similar pokemon from this tier list such as Voltorb or Charmander. The only thing going for this guy is that Abra is priced at $0.50 so he’ll cost less than Voltorb would per card, but what good will saving money do when they aren’t worth anything because they have no impact on the game?

-Doduo: Doduo is a really bad Pokemon to use and has no redeeming features. The only thing it does well from the list of attacks that are allowed in this tier list is “Peck” which cost two energy cards. You can’t do any damage with its other moves like Peck, so you’ll most likely just be using Peck over and over again as long as you have enough energy cards on hand for your turn. If there were more than one or two different types of attack available then maybe I would think about taking Doduo into consideration but without doing anything else at all except attacking, he’s not even worth considering because his HP stat isn’t very high either!

Best – Arcanine: Arcanine has a really high HP stat at 140. This means that it can take a lot of damage and dish out some as well. It’s attack range is also pretty good with “Nasty Plot” allowing it to move twice its speed after the turn ends, so if you are in an unfavourable position then don’t worry because this Pokemon will be able to escape!

Worst – Doduo: Doduo costs just four energy cards but has no special abilities or strengths for combat worth mentioning besides being able to use Peck which isn’t too great either when considering his other moves like Pursuit, Wing Attack and Fury Attack all cost two energy cards each. His stats aren’t very high either with 90 HP and 60 attack. Best – Charizard: charizard has excellent HP at a whopping 180, it also has the “Flame Thrower” move which does 50 damage whilst reducing the opponent’s HP by 20 meaning that they won’t be able to take too much punishment when hit! The only real downside for this Pokemon is its lack of speed with just one movement point so if you are going up against an agile enemy then prepare to have your butt handed to you unless they mess up in some way. Worst – Tangela: This pokemon can do some decent damage (60) but costs three energy cards each time he attacks because his leaves wrap around him making them hard targets.
