The first time I met an author was in a Barnes & Noble in my college town. I was there with my boyfriend, John, and we hadn’t bought a book, since he hadn’t picked one for me, but I was really excited to be in the same place with the author. The store was filled with books, many of them new releases, some of them old favorites, and not all of them fantasy novels.
I quickly realized how many fantasy books there were in this place. Most of them were old favorites, but a few were quite new. And they were all filled with dragons. Not just the ones that we all know and love, but the ones that are new to me. They were beautiful, and they were terrifying. And they were also filled with dragons. So I started to read them. I can’t tell you how many books that I have read that made me laugh out loud and cry out loud. I just can’t. I just can’t. I had to stop reading them because they were all filled with dragons.
