george lopez why you crying?

I’ve been told that I have a lot of stress in my life. It’s not all bad, but it does get tough sometimes. One night while driving back from the gym with Miguel (a friend) and Karla (my wife), we were talking about how hectic things can be at times when you are juggling everything for everyone else- work, kids, family obligations – to name a few. We got lost somewhere between being sympathetic and laughing as I tried to find the next step on Google Maps without data service! Eventually we found our way home; this is just one small example of why you might cry if your schedule gets overwhelming or stressful.

If you’re like me then feeling overwhelmed and stressed is an all too familiar feeling. This post will be about how to take care of yourself and find time for you!

George Lopez- Why You Crying?

I’ve been told that I have a lot of stress in my life. It’s not all bad, but it does get tough sometimes. One night while driving back from the gym with Miguel (a friend) and Karla (my wife), we were talking about how hectic things can be at times when you are juggling everything for everyone else- work, kids, family obligations – to name a few. We got lost somewhere between being sympathetic and laughing as I tried to find the next step on Google Maps without data service! Eventually we found our way, but the conversation was over.

But what if there is another way? What if this blog post could show you how to take care of yourself and find time for you?

The first thing I need to tell you is, be happy with your own company. Spend some quality time by yourself- read a book, go on a walk or spend an hour doing something that makes you feel good just for the sake of it. This can help give you perspective about what’s really important in life.

As far as work goes: don’t try so hard! The only person who will benefit from this is YOU. It won’t make anyone else happier than they were before! Take breaks throughout the day – allow yourself 15 minutes every two hours to rest and recharge. You’ll have more energy when it comes down to those last few hours at night.

And finally, don’t forget to talk about how you feel. Even if it’s just for five minutes a day (and even if only with yourself). This will make sure your needs are met and that you’re not carrying anything around by yourself in silence.

If this blog post could show you how to take care of yourself and find time for you? read the following: – Take breaks throughout the day- allow yourself 15 minutes every two hours to rest and recharge- spend some quality time by yourself doing something that makes you feel good just for the sake of it- And finally, don’t forget to talk about how we all need support from others so be sure to reach out when needed or just have someone to talk about your day and what you’re feeling with.

Drawing on personal experience can help make a difference in their lives too. For example, I was bullied as a child because I was overweight. I never talked about it with my friends because the bullying made me feel ashamed and embarrassed. My mom found out what was going on and told me she loved me no matter what, but for a long time that wasn’t enough to stop the tears from coming when someone called me fat or teased me at school.

One day in high school we had an exercise where we wrote down all of our feelings – good bad or indifferent- without censoring them. It felt so great to finally get everything off my chest! All these years later, even though I still have days where I cry on occasion due to stress or anger etc., there are just as many if not more times when someone tells how much they love this blog post and how it’s helped them feel less alone and want to fight.

I hope this post helps anyone who has ever felt the need to cry because they were teased or taunted about their weight – you are not alone! The pain is real, but so too is love. And even though my story may be nothing like yours, I know what it feels like to feel ashamed of your body and for that reason will never stop fighting against bullying in all its forms.
