The list goes as follows: *”I Want To Know What Love Is,” by Foreigner, from 1984- This song is a classic love ballad with lyrics that are still relevant today.* “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, 1967 – Known for its long introduction, this all time favourite among couples has been reworked in many different formats including versions from Bon Jovi and Lady Gaga. It’s one of those songs where people start singing along to it without even knowing them or what they’re about.- “How Deep Is Your Love?,” Bee Gees, 1977- Released just after Queen Elizabeth II became queen and the year before she married Prince Charles on the 25th of November, this song contains a lyrical reference to her coronation with the line “all around our land” – at that time it was customary for British radio stations to play an anthem on royal occasions and this one would have been perfect.- “I Will Always Love You,” by Whitney Houston from 1992- This is a song where there’s no denying what people feel when they hear it. It has moved many hearts over the years, including mine every single time I see Oscar winning actress Jennifer Hudson perform it live.

“You’re The First And Last Thing On My Mind.” – Rod Stewart, 1973

The number one song on my list is “How Deep Is Your Love?” by the Bee Gees. It’s a delicate love ballad with sensitive lyrics and an incredible performance by lead singer Robin Gibb that I think will give you goosebumps just as it did me when I first heard it in 1977. Other honorable mentions go to Frankie Valli ‘s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” which was both his first number one song and the longest running single on Billboard’s Hot 100 list for over thirty years, Queen ‘s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” which is a rock classic that has been covered by many artists including Elvis Presley , Rod Stewart with his famous version of “You’re The First And Last Thing On My Mind,” Whitney Houston ‘s “(I Will Always) Love You”, Sarah McLachlan ‘s “Angel” from 1997, Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose” from 1994, Michael Jackson ‘s 1995 hit Earth Song , and Adele who had an absolute smash this year with her album 21.

The second best is Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” a rock classic that has been covered by many artists including Elvis Presley, Rod Stewart with his famous version of “You’re The First And Last Thing On My Mind,” Whitney Houston’s “(I Will Always) Love You”. Adele had an absolute smash this year with her album 21 and Michael Jackson ‘s 1995 hit Earth Song . Seal also gets honorable mention for Kiss From A Rose.

Number Three: I Kissed A Girl

Number Four: Angel of Music by Sarah McLachlan.

Number Five: Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, Elvis Presley’s 1954 hit that is one of the best selling singles of all time. This song has been covered over 300 times and was used in a Volkswagen commercial last year which might have brought it back to people’s minds but its popularity dates back much longer than that. (It won Song Of The Year at the Grammy Awards). It also made an appearance as background music during President Obama’s inauguration speech on January 20th 2009 and played again when he accepted his party nomination for president at the Democratic National Convention later that summer.
