I haven’t read any of laura clery’s books, but I am a big fan of the “Crafts and Craftsmen of New England” series. Each book focuses on a different craftsman and their crafts by showing their life through the eyes of someone who has worked with them. The books are usually written by women, so I am a big fan of the covers, which are beautiful.
The books are all available on Amazon, though they don’t have the usual book descriptions. Locks of Love is by the author of the Crafts and Craftsmen of New England series, while The Craftsmen of New England is written by the author of The Craftsman’s Companion. All three books will be available in hardcover, along with a few other books (like The Art and Crafts of Making Decorative Cakes and The Craftsman’s Companion).
The Craftsmen of New England is a new series for me. I remember reading about this series just a few years ago but I haven’t read anything by the author since. I will certainly be picking up the series to read all about the world of craftsmen. I have also been thinking about the series of craftsmen books that were published about ten years ago when it first came out.
The idea of crafting a book from scratch is a brilliant one, and I am excited to see how much the Craftsmen series has grown in popularity since the first edition came out. I will definitely be picking up the hardcover copies of Craftsmen of New England because I just wish I remembered what the author’s name was.
So many people have mentioned that they wish someone had written down the histories of craftspeople. Well, you can’t put a book of histories of craftsmen off the shelf, so you have to make it yourself. That’s why the Craftsmen series was created.
It’s also why the Craftsmen series is a series of books that you can make if you buy the hardcover books individually. The books themselves are as you might imagine, a collection of stories about craftsmen and their lives in New England. But the Craftsmen series is an attempt to collect the stories and histories in one place, and to make the series available to everyone.
Because it’s a collection of stories (not a collection of people), the Craftsmen series has, in fact, been successful. The series has sold over 100 million copies, and is the number one best seller in the US, according to eBays.com. The Craftsmen series is a bit more well-known internationally, but it’s unlikely that the series will be around long if you haven’t heard of it.
The Craftsmen books are best known for their incredibly detailed descriptions and use of “artsy” terms. But even in its best forms, the Craftsmen series is still just a collection of stories, but a story collection nonetheless. Because its a collection of stories of stories, it has some pretty cool concepts (one of which being that you can only buy one of the books at a time), but its also a bit tedious.
Well, the Craftsmen books are all about crafting objects and things you want to use. But then, you can buy them in bulk, and you can find the book you want in one place, and then you can read all the stories for just a few hours, or whatever. But at least you get to read the stories, and you can read all about the objects that you made.
