Mountain Top has been welcoming visitors since the 1950s when it was founded by merchant Harold Schechter who would travel down from New York City every weekend with his wife Dolores. He opened up shop at what was then called Paradise Valley Shopping Center (now Adventureland). Over time he added more items such as antiques, jewelry, and other handmade items. After his death in the 1970s, Harold’s son Phil opened up a store in New York City.
Later on Mountain Top Flea Market was renamed to Adventureland after years of success with its new name. Owner Gene Spagnoli changed the market into an amusement park which included rides for children like roller coasters and kiddie cars as well as game booths where visitors could play games while they shopped. Eventually all these attractions were closed down because people preferred shopping without distractions–and now it is just known as Mountain Top again! Visitors who visit will be able to find vendors set up selling goods such as antiques, craft pieces from local artists, knick-knacks and even food!
