What are the best heroes? Who is the best hero of all time? These questions have been asked for decades, and there are many valid answers. However, one question that has not been answered as well is “who is statistically most likely to win in a fight?” We will answer this question by creating a tier list based on statistical probability and data collected from various sources.
Keyword: movie hero tier list, best movie heroes
How do you decide who the “best” is? What criteria are used to judge one over another? There are many ways of calculating a hero’s worth. This blog post will explore how we can rank these fictional characters by looking at their most likely chance of winning in an imaginary fight. We’ll go through each tier and talk about what makes that character so formidable from both a statistical and superhuman perspective.
We analyzed movies with more than two heroes listed on IMDB – including animated films like The Incredibles (2004) or Kung Fu Panda (2008). For consistency, all data collected was based around release date rather than production order due to multiple franchises spanning decades such as Marvel Cinematic Universe or DC Comics Extended Universe.
Tier One:
The most powerful heroes with a high chance of winning in an imaginary fight – these characters are generally considered favorites to win any battle they enter, either by human or superhuman standards. This tier includes only two characters: Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter from JK Rowling’s novels. No one else came close to their power level on this list. In fact, none even made it into Tier Two! That said, there were some interesting rankings in Tiers Three through Five that seem like contenders for the top slot if given enough time..so stay tuned as we explore those tiers next week!
Tier Two:
We looked at four main criteria when ranking these characters: their ability to win in a fight, the scope of power they wield, how well-known or iconic they are and how much narrative time is dedicated to them.
This tier includes characters who have been on screen for many years and those with high levels of fame such as Batman from DC Comics (though he does not come close to Harry Potter’s popularity). It also includes some powerful Marvel heroes like Spiderman, Iron Man and Hulk. Finally there are two Game of Thrones character: Tywin Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen both currently ranked at #13th within this Tier but highly likely moving up into the top slot when we explore Tiers Three through Five next week!
The next tier contains characters who have been on screen for a long time such as Gandalf from Lord of the Rings (though he does not come close to Batman’s popularity). It also includes some powerful Marvel heroes like Thor, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Finally there are two Game of Thrones character: Bran Stark and Jon Snow both currently ranked at #13th within this Tier but highly likely moving up into the top slot when we explore Tiers Three through Five next week! The scope of power these individuals wield is much greater than their more prominent counterparts in previous tiers while still being less well-known or iconic. You might recognize them by name only if you’re an avid moviegoer, but they are essential to any Tier List.
Tier One: Batman, Spiderman, Iron Man
Tier Two: Captain America, Thor, Wolverine
Tier Three: Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch (Game of Thrones), Gandalf (Lord of the Rings) Bran Stark (#13th in Tiers Four-Five) Jon Snow (#14th in Tiers Four-Five).
