I remember the night I bought my first Kindle. I remember sitting on the floor at my friend’s apartment in NYC and turning on the device and realizing I had a lot of books to read. It wasn’t until I sat down that I realized I had all of the books on one device. It was this moment that really changed the course of my life.
The problem with the Kindle is that it’s a one-time purchase. It takes up a lot of room, and a lot of times it’s just easier if you are on the phone while you read. I’d love it if I could buy more eBooks, but my solution is to buy a Kindle Paperwhite. It’s a little heavier, but it’s also much smaller, which is always a plus.
It’s not like I’m going to need to read another book or anything. It’s just that I am in such a hurry to get all of those books out, that I am going to have to buy a new one every time I want to read one.
Its definitely going to be a one-time purchase, but if you do it right you can enjoy a lot of the benefits of eBooks. I know I do. The Kindle Paperwhite is one of the most lightweight e-readers in the world and it fits in your pocket so you can still read while you drive. It has a good screen that looks good too.
There are a lot of problems with the Kindle Paperwhite, but the real problem is the fact that the Kindle Paperwhite is so damn heavy it’s like having a big book as your bed. And when you’re trying to read a big book while your partner is trying to sleep, that’s why you need a ebook reader.
Well, the ebook reader for me is the only reason I keep an e-reader. I keep one for when I need something quick, like a Kindle Fire, but I also keep one because I love the Kindle Paperwhite. I love the screen, the light weight, and the comfort of holding it in my hand. I also enjoy the fact that it doesn’t have that annoying pop-up that’s all the other eReaders have.
I use a Kindle Paperwhite for my books. I have a Kindle Fire and an iPad. I have the Kindle Fire because I think that I would be more comfortable reading on my tablet. I do NOT think that I would be more comfortable reading on my e-reader. So I guess I use both.
It’s a good thing that you can still read with a Kindle Paperwhite because they are much more expensive than eReaders. The Kindle Fire costs about $150 and the iPad costs about $100. The Kindle Paperwhite is about $150, but it includes a Wi-Fi adapter, a charger, and a stylus. Amazon offers free shipping for the Kindle Paperwhite on orders under $35.
I have been thinking a lot about how tablets are changing the reading habits of the future. When I was in college I was taking an elective for the History of Science class in which we were tasked with researching the earliest known civilizations. I remember the professor saying that if we could prove that the first civilization was based strictly on the written word, then we’d be able to claim that the first written language was the earliest known language.
I think his point was that if the first written language could be used to write stories, that would also mean that the first written language was the earliest known language, because everyone was writing down their stories anyway.
