Rocky Top Middle School is more than just a school; it’s also the home of Rocky Top Community House, the only one in Tennessee. The community house offers after-school programs that are designed to help students stay on track and graduate. We hope this blog post will give you some ideas for starting your own community house!
In the past, Rocky Top Community House has been used as a polling location on Election Day. In 2017, it was also the site of a successful gun buyback program that resulted in more than 300 guns being collected and destroyed. Thanks to an $11 million grant from Nashville Mayor Megan Barry’s office, we are preparing for our next phase of renovations which will include upgrades to security equipment and repainting hallways. The community house will remain open during construction so all students can continue their after-school programs without interruption!
This year marks Rocky Top Middle School’s 60th anniversary and I hope you’ll be able to come by this fall for our celebration festivities! RSVP
P.S.: Rocky Top Middle School is a proud sponsor of the #RockyTopRoarers and will once again be participating in this year’s Nashville Predators playoff run! The school colors are black, gold and white with pride to match our hometown team!
