I know I’ve mentioned this once before, but the best book I’ve ever read about flying is not about flying. The best book about flying I’ve ever read is actually about the books that have been written on the subject.
So I get to review a book called Secret on the Tarmac! This is, in my opinion, the best book about flying that has ever been written. The book is written by author and aviation writer Richard G. Kowal, who has spent the last 30 years writing books on many of the most popular topics in aviation, aviation history, and even the latest innovations in aircraft design.
The book is full of interesting info that most people probably don’t know. For example, I’m sure a lot of you have flown in private planes or have taken part in a few lessons with a local pilot. You probably know that people often claim they can fly in the air or do flight simulators.
In order to fly a flight simulator, you need to have a pilot license, a certified instructor (usually a professional), and a simulated aircraft. But what are you supposed to do if you don’t have a license to fly an actual aircraft? The answer is quite a bit of a mystery to me.
What most people don’t realize is that they are actually taking the lessons in the air. They are actually doing a pilot training course. And this is probably the biggest thing that the video game development community has been fighting for the last few years. For most people, it just seems that pilots are not qualified to fly simulators because they dont hold a pilot license, they are not certified, and arent allowed to fly simulators.
Thats true, but they arent just any old airmen. As a simulator, they arent just pilots, they are fully qualified, certified, and licensed. And that certification isnt just for the FAA, it is for all the world’s air safety organizations and the International Civil Aviation Organization.
As a pilot, it can be hard to tell the difference between a simulator and a real aircraft, especially for those whose careers are more in the public eye. The difference between a simulator and a real aircraft is that the real aircraft is a simulation of a real aircraft, meaning that it is a computer generated simulation, but that this simulation isnt just a computer simulation, it is a physical simulation.
The FAA’s Air Safety Investigation and Standards Section (ASIS) is the organization that sets the standards for aircraft safety and procedures for flight crews. It’s a place that all pilots are very much at home in, because these standards are the foundation for the safety of aircraft that every airline must adhere to. As such, they have a lot of power and influence over how an aircraft is designed and how it is operated, because they’ve set standards based on the results of the Air Force’s tests.
As we head into the summer holidays, the ASIS has an office in Singapore that houses the testing operations, so it’s something that any airline, or any pilot, should be at home in. But what is the ASIS doing with all this power? It’s actually a good question, because what it is doing, is in effect, setting standards. What ASIS is doing is setting standards that are meant to make aviation safer.
Like most of the other things that are set standards, this is a good example of how they are operating. In aviation, they set standards that are set to make it safer. In the ASIS, they set standards that are meant to make it easier to take off and land. All the really hard stuff like air-to-air refuelling and the like is much easier in the air.
