This morning when I rose,
I felt like a new man.
A weight had been lifted from my shoulders,
and I was ready to take on the day.
I had this sensation of hope and energy
that I hadn’t felt in a long time.
That’s when it happened: the panic attack.
It came out of nowhere, taking my breath away for good measure.
It was intense enough that I had to stop what I was doing and lean against a wall until it passed. It took me weeks to work up the courage again; but at least this time, there were no tears waiting for me on the other side like before.” And then you can start over with “This morning when I rose…” Again! The weight of depression has been lifted off my shoulders, I’m breathing easier than ever before – people are smiling. Somewhere deep inside me I feel lighter somehow.”

She smiled at me reassuringly then pulled me into an embrace. “We’ll get through this together”. It was just what i needed to hear-the words pushed every other thought out of my head until there was nothing left except peace & relief_.& those tears were gone now too..mostly because they were replaced by laughter when we realized how ridiculous our fight had been.
The story of my life is the story of a redemption-struggling to rise from the ashes and climb back up onto the mountain top__i have fallen many times but I keep rising for one simple reason: faith. _I know God will carry me when i can’t walk any more, so that gives me peace now because nothing in this world has power over me except Him.”

Every day as I approach His throne with hard questions about myself & others, praying out loud often becomes an impromptu worship session._& every time it feels like coming home..like entering a proverbial “village” where i’m surrounded by people who know, love and understand me.
The simple grace of mercy is a gift given to all-a healing balm for our deepest wounds._ It’s not easy__it hurts at times__but it transforms us into what we’re always meant to be: human beings created in the image of God with hope eternal! And that’s why I keep rising–because when He rises again on this earth, so will I..in newness of life. Amen!!
