Salt is a common ingredient in many dishes, but did you know that it has other uses too? Today I am going to show you the science behind what happens when you pour salt into a cabbage.

Many people don’t know that salt has many uses besides just seasoning food. We’ll start by looking at the chemistry behind a simple experiment, and then we will try it ourselves to see what happens!

In science experiments like these where you pour an ingredient into another one, there are two main things you need to look for: how much of each ingredient was put in, and what the starting volume of both ingredients were. In this case I am going to use 100mL of water (which is .00L) and 500g of salt (~17 oz) which means 17% salt solution with 95% being plain old H20. That’s all well and good but let’s find out exactly what happened when we mixed them together!

A salt solution is formed when water dissolves a solid substance, in this case the salt. This happens because of the attractive forces between molecules that make up both substances (water and salt). One molecule from each type will dissolve until no more can fit inside or on top of one another. In order to get them out again you need heat – like the kind generated by boiling water for example! The resulting liquid is called an electrolyte which has positively charged ions dissolved into it as well as negatively charged ones. These two types are attracted to one another which means they create some intense chemical reactions with other things around them such as plants nearby! That being said, let’s go back to our experiment and see what was happening..

The water and salt weren’t mixing, instead they were just sitting there. In order to get some of the salt out I had to give it a good shake and pour more in which made for an even bigger mess! The force that was pushing them together wasn’t enough so I tried adding heat by boiling some water on the stove nearby. With all this new energy around things started changing really quickly – now we see something called lather bubbles foaming up from underneath where our cabbage is resting because everything’s mixed in better with another substance called soap which makes things slippery (enough).

After pouring more salt into the mix, the two substances created what scientists call electrical currents or electrolytes. When these two ions come into contact with plants, they can start to break down the cell walls in your cells.

What Happens When You Pour Salt Into a Cabbage? __ Things are always changing and evolving; even the things that appear to be solid can change when mixed with other substances: water for example is able to convert into gas as it evaporates over time. I think from all of these observations, you could probably figure out how to recreate this experiment at home yourself! *The cabbage plants leaves deteriorated when salt was added to them because it acted as a catalyst for ions that created hydrogen gas which dissolved into water molecules within the plant cells, forming hydroxide or more commonly known as lye. This is what typically happens with metals like copper and iron but since sodium chloride is not soluble in water (meaning it does not dissolve) it will only show its effects on cell walls by acting as an electrolyte between two different substances creating bubbles such as those seen here*. __ __
