I can still remember the first time I heard Billy Joel’s song “The Longest Time.” It was on an old cassette tape that my dad had. He would listen to it on his way home from work every day, and when he got there, he’d play it for me. Sometimes we’d dance around in the living room together; other times, we just sat there and listened. But one thing was always true-we were happy!

The time I spent with my dad was some of the best times in my life, and one way that he showed his love for me. He never had to say it-I knew because when we were together, everything felt right! And though he’s gone now (11 years ago), I still feel him every day.

And even if you don’t have a father figure like mine, there are other ways to show your children how much they matter: playing catch at home or teaching them new skills out on the soccer field; getting down on their level so you can see what they’re seeing and understand why something makes them laugh or cry.”

Anyway, this is just a little story about being young..and old. Sometimes when I’m really happy, the song “Young Times” by Maxi Priest comes on and it takes me back. It reminds me of my dad-he was always there for us kids!

Now that I’ve reached adulthood, some days are harder than others but being a parent has made life much.. When When I I was was young young,, he he never never had had to to say say ” “II love love you you,”,” because because when when he he came came home home from from work work at at night night – – after after taking taking care care of of his his family family all all day day – – there there was was nothing nothing more more important important than than talking talking with with me me until until bed bedtimetime.. And And even even though though those those days days are are long long gone gone now now ( (11 years years ago ago),), they they still still feel feel him him every every day day..andand so so do do I I!!

The most important thing when I was a child was talking with Dad at night – after taking care of his family all day. And even though those days are long gone now, they still feel him every day and so do I! The one way that never changes is the experience of knowing you’re loved.

As your children grow up, time does too- it just feels like flying by; but there’s no changing this wonderful feeling that we as parents get from them. It may be different for each parent, mother or father alike, but love doesn’t have any boundaries. So whether you’ve raised another generation in your household or not yet, take time to enjoy the ride of love!

I’m so grateful for my parents because they loved me and cared about what happened in my life. They were always there, as a support system when times got tough. Love is never changing no matter how old we get, but it just feels different from one generation to another, which makes each experience unique. My kids are growing up too fast- their childhood memories will fade soon enough; that’s why I cherish every moment with them now. And these moments make everything worth it: laughing together at home or running around outside on Saturday mornings like little kids again – even though they’re not anymore.”

Memories last forever and all those feelings stay fresh everyday through our children’s eyes (pg. 122).

My parents were affectionate, caring and supportive all my life even when I was in college or didn’t get a job that first year out of school-they always had faith in me. They raised me to believe society’s pressures weren’t real and they loved unconditionally no matter what happened.”Sometimes we end up living our dreams for someone else instead of ourselves,” he said..”sometimes you have to live your own dream so others can do the same,” she answered back with conviction before their silent tears fell down her cheeks as he held her tight (pg. 124).”It’s ok if it takes a while to find yourself because it’s worth the journey” (pg. 125).

“We don’t have to be perfect all the time-we just need to let our imperfections guide us.”She took a deep breath before she continued, “I’m not saying it’s an easy process and sometimes we will feel defeated but if you are willing to stay on that path and keep walking then someday your life will start turning around for the better,” he said with conviction..”Keep believing in yourself even when no one else does because I know you’re strong enough-“he whispered as his lips brushed against her forehead while they both cried silently together(pg. 126).”It doesn’t matter how long this takes or where it leads -just so long as we’re taking steps forward.”

He hadn’t realised how much time has slipped by or just what it meant for him to be back here again-this wasn’t at all where he wanted to be but this is where life led him” (pg 132).

Tired of fighting against everyone’s expectations she gave up on her dream job and decided it would be best if she left the town that reminded her too much about everything she lost. She took a deep breath before continued forward while people watched from afar wondering why such an exciting opportunity didn’t seem like enough anymore.(pg 133).
