This article will teach you how to say your birthday in Spanish by providing the full translation. There are many different ways that people celebrate their birthdays, but what is most unique about them? People usually make a big deal out of it and throw parties or go on vacation for one day. The celebration can be as simple as going out with friends for dinner or giving presents to loved ones. You might have noticed that we didn’t mention anything related to language lessons–yet! This is because this post has nothing to do with teaching you how to speak Spanish; instead, we’re just telling you when someone’s name corresponds with his/her date of birth according to the Gregorian calendar (which is used internationally).
*When is your date of birth?
January 15, 1996: on the fifteenth day of January in the year one thousand nine hundred ninety six.
*What is my name’s corresponding birthday under this calendar?
Jorge Antonio Fernández Soler: Jorge (born on a Sunday) was born on January 15th in 1986 or 199 depending upon whether he follows Western or Eastern Standard Time respectively. He would be called “Gordo” by his friends and family members because it means fat in Spanish–a nickname that he probably hates with all of his heart! As for Antonio Fernández Soler, I know next to nothing about him as there are millions of people out there who share that same surname.
*How old am I?
27: 27 years of age. But, to be honest, that’s not even close to being accurate! You are either 25 or 28 depending on whether you use the Western (Gregorian) calendar or Eastern Standard Time respectively. My date of birth is January 15th in 1996 and if we go by your time zone then my birthday would have been celebrated last Saturday–the fourteenth day of January this year (2017). *If I was born at 12am according to EST/EST during the winter months when daylight savings time kicks in, then it would still count as a Wednesday which means that I’m actually 26 years old because there were only six hours between midnight and noon according to EST/EST.
28: 28 years old or 25 if you are counting by the Western (Gregorian) calendar–but that’s not even close to being accurate! You are either 27, 29, 30 depending on whether you use Eastern Standard Time or Central Daylight time respectively which is one of my two birth times. My date of birth was January 15th in 1996 and this year I celebrated it last Saturday–the fourteenth day of January this year (2017). *If I was born at 12am according to EST during the winter months when daylight savings time kicks in then it would still count as a Wednesday but since there were only six hours between midnight and noon according to EST then I’m actually 26 years old because there were twelve hours between midnight and noon according to EST.
-29: 29 years old or 24 if you are counting by the Western (Gregorian) calendar–but that’s not even close to being accurate! You are either 28, 30 depending on whether you use Eastern Standard Time or Central Daylight time respectively which is one of my two birth times. My date of birth was January 15th in 1997 and this year I celebrated it last Saturday–the fourteenth day of January this year (2017). *If I was born at 12am according to EST during the winter months when daylight savings time kicks in then it would still count as a Wednesday but since there were only six hours between midnight and noon according to EST then I’m actually 27 years old.
12am: 12 AM or at dawn which is the earliest of my birth times–January 16th in 1997 according to EST but again this isn’t accurate because there was a whole 24 hours between midnight and noon. I’m actually 29 years old on January 15th, 2017 if you use Eastern Standard Time–but that’s only an hour difference from 27 so it doesn’t really matter much if we are counting by days or months (in retrospect). *If I were born at 12am then I would be 25 years old since there were six more hours between me being born and midday. If daylight savings time had not kicked in yet for the year when I was born than it would have been December 31st instead of January 15th.
11pm: 11 PM or at dusk which is the latest of my birth times–October 31st in 1997 according to EST but again this isn’t accurate because there was a whole 24 hours between midnight and noon. I’m actually 27 years old on October 30th, 2017 if you use Eastern Standard Time–but that’s only an hour difference from 26 so it doesn’t really matter much if we are counting by days or months (in retrospect). *If I were born at 11pm then I would be 25 years old since there were six more hours between me being born and midday. If daylight savings time had not kicked in yet for the year when I was born than it would have been November 30th instead of the 31st. -11pm: 11 PM or at dusk which is the latest of my birth times–October 31st in 1997 according to EST but again this isn’t accurate because there was a whole 24 hours between midnight and noon.
