When the lights go out, five things happen:
1. The TV flickers to life and the cat is just so relieved that he’s not alone.
2. You’re reminded of how your phone battery is slowly dying, but you don’t need a flashlight because there’s enough light from the TV and then..
3. Bingo! You find your charger in a pile of blankets on the couch next to you and plug it into your phone for some much needed juice.
4. Your eyes adjust to see without electricity, and now there’s no problem reading by candlelight or moonlight or even starlight (though those are tough).
5. And as long as there isn’t an earthquake or tsunami and the water isn’t coming in, you’re safe.
The darkness is always just an illusion when it’s below 30 degrees outside.
And there are five things to be grateful for even if your emergency flashlight can’t find its way home this time: TV lights up your living room again, phone battery has some juice again (crisis averted!), eyes adjust so that reading by candlelight becomes a pleasure rather than a struggle, as long as the power doesn’t go out because of earthquake or tsunami then you’ll stay dry, and we all know how much happier our moods become once the sun finally comes back around – no matter what season it is. Be thankful! And don’t forget these five things in the case of a future power outage.

I’m your light. I will illuminate the darkness for you and show you what’s real. You’ve always had me with you when it might have seemed like there was no one around – This time let me help guide the way back to safety together! There are five things that should be grateful every time we go through an emergency flashlight-less situation: TV lights up our living rooms again, phone batteries have some juice again (crisis averted!), eyes adjust so that reading by candlelight becomes a pleasure rather than a struggle, as long as the power doesn’t go out because of earthquake or tsunami then we’ll stay dry, and we can finally sleep in peace knowing that we’re safe.

TV is back on – good luck finding something worth watching! Phone’s battery finally recharged enough for calls/texts/internet Earthquake rocks us but we stay completely dry as long as we were in our beds before it hit We slept like babies while every other person was complaining about how hot they were because of all the candles scattered around town
We can’t have our electricity back without knowing we’ll be safe.
