It is important to be safe when you are on the road, and that includes giving a proper signal before turning. There are many ways that you can give a signal with your vehicle, but it’s not always easy to remember what they all mean. Here’s a quick guide of how to use signals when making turns in your car:
Left turn- left hand extended horizontally from the steering wheel at least six inches or more above the head of the driver
Right turn- right hand extended horizontally from the steering wheel at least six inches or more above the head of driver
U-turn- left or right arm bent 90 degrees at elbow and raised as high as possible with palm downward
Stop- left or right arm bent 90 degrees at elbow and raised as high as possible with palm facing upward
Turning from the center lane into a narrow street, private driveway, etc. – left hand extended horizontally from steering wheel six inches or more above head of driver; palm should be turned downward
Blocking intersection- one hand stretched out on each side of car with palms pointed toward ground to show your intent to slow down traffic (but not stop) for those who want to turn across the intersection
This list is by no means exhaustive but it serves its purpose in making sure that you know which way you need to signal before turning any corner!

if you’re turning left, make a LEFT HANDED TURN SIGNAL; this will tell other drivers what direction you are headed in – when ready for manoeuvre take foot off of gas pedal (to keep from drifting) but maintain brake application with RIGHT FOOT on BRAKE PEDAL then turn the steering wheel to the left.

The correct left hand signal should be used when a driver wants to make a left turn. The first thing that one must do is reduce speed so as not to lose control while making their turn. A car will need more space if they decide on going through an intersection where there are crosswalks and traffic lights in order for them not to hit pedestrians who may also be crossing the street; this means they need time from other vehicles coming into their direction. – The first thing that one must do is reduce speed so as not to lose control while making their turn.
