When Klub 17 was first formed, they had one goal in mind: To make music that people would be able to enjoy for a long time. Klub 17 is an alternative rock/alternative pop-punk band based in Memphis, TN. They formed on September 11th of 2013 with one goal: to make music that people could enjoy for years to come. Their name comes from being born during the year 200’s worst terrorist attack on America – Septemeber 11th 2001.
Their first release was a six song self-titled EP released before they had played many shows as themselves. The album contained some demos written by lead singer Tyler Clark and guitarist Taylor White. They are currently working on their next EP and hope to release it in the coming months.
Klub 17’s sound is a unique mix of pop-punk, alternative rock, indie rock, and punk music mixed together with lyrical themes revolving around life struggles. Their influences come from bands such as Green Day (American Idiot), blink 182 (Enema Of The State) or New Found Glory (Sticks And Stones). Klub 17 has set out to be that band for people who can’t find what they’re looking for – catchy melodies with meaningful lyrics about everyday happenings.
Their live performances often includes an energetic stage presence and fun interactions between Tyler Clark and Taylor White which means fans never know what might happen during any given show.
Klub 17 has been featured on a number of different blogs and magazines, including AltWire who said “If you’re in need of something new to fill your ears with then Klub 17 is the band for you.”
While their current goal is simply to release music, they hope one day to have a meaningful life. Their songs are about everyday struggles that many people can relate to – trying find themselves or how nobody understands what they go through on the daily so when will my life begin chords? But even though it’s just another ordinary day at work (or school) feeling like there might be nothing else left in this world but regrets, we keep going because it feels good knowing we didn’t give up. We write as many songs as we can and hope for the best.

Klub 17’s first album titled “The Beginning” was released in October 2017 after two years of hard work – an experience they cherish deeply while also trying find themselves or others who are just looking for a place to belong.
“This album is about the feeling of finding yourself and wanting more out of life, but in an honest way,” lead singer Jonathan (Jay) Sanchez told Billboard via email. “It’s not one-sided; it’s regretful, hopeful, and unapologetic.”
The first song on the album titled “One Day I’ll Have A Meaningful Life” talks about how nobody has any idea what people are going through on their daily lives so when will my life begin chords? It’s not like there might be nothing else left in this world but regrets or that even feels like that sometimes after work or school – whatever you’re doing, things always seem to get really difficult.
This song is about just, you know, it’s like the world doesn’t really care if we live or die and that when will my life begin chords? I think everyone can relate to this feeling of being so tired that they don’t have anything left in their body for themselves – Jay Sanchez said he was thinking a lot about his own exhaustion as well with everything else going on around him while writing this song.
The album also includes interviews from some Klub 17 members to give listeners an idea of what its all about and why people join these groups.
Listening to those stories feels even more meaningful because every single person has a different background but the one thing they share together is wanting something better than where they are in their lives.
There’s a really touching interview segment with one of the Klub 17 members who says “when I was telling my story, and they were listening to me like it mattered at all, that made me feel so loved.”
