when your custom character is in a cutscene

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see yourself in a cutscene? It’s possible! In this tutorial, we will show you how to create your own custom character for the Sims 4. After following these steps, your character will have their own cutscene and voice actors!

Your custom character needs to be created in CAS. You can make a male or female Sim, depending on what gender you want your voice actor to portray them while reading dialogue. Their appearance will provide more opportunities for the actors auditioning for this project. We recommend making their skin color neutral so that it is not too distracting during cutscenes when they are speaking and moving around as well!

After creating your Sims, click on ‘Create Cutscene’. Give the cutscene a name (ex: “A Day at Work”) and then create some goals with options like “work from home” and “practice self confidence skills”. There should be about six total goals. After selecting these options, go back into your Sim’s inventory and select the “Create Cutscene Scene Slider.

Now, you can adjust how often your Sim will work from home in a day (between 0% to 100%) or what percentage of time they spend practicing self confidence skills per day. You may have more than one goal set for them during a single cutscene if desired! However, make sure that there are at least six goals total across all of the days worth of cutscenes which makes up this movie. Write down these percentages somewhere so you don’t forget later on when we’ll need to assign roles based on each person’s frequency with completing goals.

Ex: Today is Monday and I want my Sims to do 50% work from home and 50% self-confidence goals.

Goal Status: Completed (50% work from home, and 50% self confidence)

Action Plan: Set the percentage of time they spend practicing their skills to 100%. Write down these percentages somewhere so you don’t forget later on when we’ll need to assign roles based on each person’s frequency with completing goals.

There are twelve days worth of cutscenes which make up this movie. Make sure there is a goal for every day! Remember that your custom character will not be able to complete all of them in one go; it takes at least six hours for an Sim to complete a single goal, meaning that if you want them do accomplish everything then you would have to make it so they can’t sleep at all. The amount of goals for a single day will always be too little to accomplish everything, and that’s what makes them challenging yet rewarding!

For the first three days, set up your custom character with their job skills as well as two traits. You’ll need to assign jobs based on how many goals you are aiming for since there is no way in-game to set the number of goals for a day. You may want to get your Sims’ skills and traits up as fast as you can so they are more likely to have potential careers that match their job skills, though this is not required.

After those first three days, it’s time to start assigning daily tasks! Each goal should be assigned a certain amount of points based on how difficult or long-term it is; then each task in the game will be worth one point which means that if you assign six different tasks per day (three easy and three hard) then a total of eighteen points would need to be completed during that day. The easiest way to do this would either by creating your own task list using Microsoft Excel or by using the “Daily Task” option in-game to assign daily tasks.

Some ideas for easy tasks are things like cooking a meal, cleaning up dishes or doing some gardening work; while harder tasks could be something such as reading two books on improving skills related to your career (such as Logic and Charisma) or maxing out one of their skill levels with an exercise machine from the gym! It’s completely up to you how you want to divide these points among your Sims each day, though it may take time before they have enough points built up at once that they can finally purchase any new items which will make them happy again.
